Greater Anglia is currently forward planning for future opportunities as a Platform Host (Train Dispatcher) based at Norwich Station. Successful applicants will be placed in a Talent Bank for up to six months, with potential offers made should suitable roles become available during that period.

This role is essential for ensuring a safe environment, delivering effective customer service, and enhancing the customer travel experience on our modern, environmentally friendly trains.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support mobility/visually impaired customers, including assisting them when boarding or alighting from trains.
  • Deploy station ramps, provide luggage assistance, and support passengers with station wheelchairs.
  • Collaborate with Drivers and Conductors for smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Comply with safety regulations, report faults and hazards, and ensure the safe and punctual dispatch of trains.
  • Collaborate with other business areas for operational efficiency and support customers during disruptions.

Important Information

  • This role involves working an average of 35 hours per week on a shift basis, including early starts (from 04:50), late finishes (until 01:40), weekends, and bank holidays.
  • You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for shifts.
  • Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory Right to Work checks, a DBS check, and a safety-critical medical assessment.
  • A compulsory 5-day Dispatch training course at the Stratford Academy, followed by a final assessment, is required.

Work Arrangements
