About the Role

Greater Anglia is currently planning for future opportunities and is building a Talent Bank for Platform Host (Train Dispatcher) roles based at Liverpool Street Station. If successful, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months, with potential for a role offer should a suitable opportunity arise during that period.

This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe environment while delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing the passenger experience at a busy station. Operating in a fast-paced environment with high footfall, you will contribute to the smooth running of services.

Positions may be available as Static or Relief roles, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Static roles offer a consistent shift pattern, while Relief roles provide flexibility with weekly rosters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist passengers, including those with mobility or visual impairments, with boarding and alighting trains.
  • Deploy station ramps, provide luggage assistance, and support passengers using station wheelchairs.
  • Collaborate with Drivers and Conductors for smooth communication and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, reporting faults and hazards.
  • Support customers during operational disruptions and collaborate with other business areas when required.

Requirements

Please note that applications will only be considered if the following criteria are met:

  • Willingness to work an average of 35 hours per week, including early starts (from 05:45), late finishes (up to 23:35), weekends, bank holidays, and night shifts.
  • Ability to arrange independent transport for timely arrival for all shifts.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Commitment to completing a compulsory 5-day Dispatch training course at our Stratford Academy, followed by a final assessment.
  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory Right to Work checks, a DBS check, and a safety-critical medical assessment.
