About the role
Network Rail is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Route Services division, specifically within Supply Chain Operations (SCO). SCO plays a critical role in ensuring the railway system runs smoothly by supplying and delivering the necessary logistics, materials, components, and fleet to enable maintenance and renewal activities.
About the Role
This role is part of Supply Chain Operations (SCO), which is responsible for the logistics and delivery of materials, components, and fleet vital for maintaining and renewing the railway. SCO ensures that essential items are available on-site when needed, keeping projects on schedule.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with supply chain stakeholders to resolve queries and meet KPIs.
- Support the wider operations team in delivering a comprehensive service to customers.
- Provide data, analysis, and commentary for management reports.
- Propose and implement improvement activities based on data analysis and subject matter expertise.
- Action and resolve customer and supplier queries within agreed processes and SLAs, monitoring trends to identify improvements.
- Develop and maintain processes to enhance team performance and support ISO9001 accreditation.
- Utilise supply chain expertise to resolve complex queries by evaluating information and identifying root causes.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant work experience (e.g., Supply Chain, Business Management).
- Experience in Internal Sales and ERP systems (e.g., ORACLE, SAP).
- Proficient Microsoft Office user.
- Experience in a customer service role.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with high accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Good commercial awareness and a customer-focussed approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and a desire to improve processes and efficiency.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Awareness of supply chain processes.
Desirable Criteria
- Railway knowledge.
Contract Details
Two roles are available: one for a 10-month secondment/fixed-term contract, and one for a 12-month secondment/fixed-term maternity cover. Both have the potential to extend or become permanent.
Location and Hours
The positions are based at The Quadrant, Milton Keynes. The working hours are 35 per week, with hybrid working and occasional travel required.
Salary
The salary range is £27,798 - £29,048 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
